SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 7

Recognizing January 28, 1998, as "911 Appreciation Day".
Whereas, All West Virginians are aware of the secure feeling
that the 911 system is operational for their safety and welfare;
and
Whereas, Few West Virginians take time to think of the people
who operate on the other end of the telephone line when 911 is
dialed; and
Whereas, These caring people work tirelessly behind the scenes
assisting the citizens of West Virginia in some of their darkest
hours; and
Whereas, The long hours of shift work, weekends and holidays
are normal for these unsung heroes; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby commends our fellow West Virginians who
work tirelessly for the benefit of others in the 911 Emergency
System, many times placing themselves in danger for the safety of
others; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the appropriate officials of West
Virginia's 911 Emergency System.
